Machine polishing
Machine polishing is discussed after inspection. Pad, polish, and number of stages depend on paint hardness, defect type, and remaining clear coat — not on a marketing finish name.
Paint
Paint enhancement and correction outcomes depend on paint condition, paint depth, previous repairs, defect type, clear coat condition, equipment, time, product suitability, and agreed scope. Scratch removal, swirl removal, defect removal, and final finish are not guaranteed.
Machine polishing • Swirl reduction • Gloss • Inspection
Not every car is a candidate for heavy correction. The honest answer after inspection may be enhancement, protection only, or a recommendation to speak to a bodyshop.
Paint work
Machine polishing is discussed after inspection. Pad, polish, and number of stages depend on paint hardness, defect type, and remaining clear coat — not on a marketing finish name.
Fine wash marring can often be reduced on suitable paint. Soft blacks, previously over-polished panels, and fresh resprays need extra caution.
Removing haze and light defects can increase perceived gloss. Lighting, colour, and metallic flake still control how ‘deep’ a panel looks.
Clarity is the absence of haze and the evenness of reflection. It is a goal, not a certificate.
Oxidation may improve with cleaning and polishing. Failing clear coat, bare metal, or chalked single-stage paint may be beyond cosmetic work.
Random isolated scratches and holograms are assessed one by one. Reduction is not removal, and removal is not guaranteed.
Inspection comes first. Previous repairs, panel mismatches, and wrap or PPF edges change the plan.
Where paint depth can be discussed, it informs risk. This website does not publish fake paint-depth figures or imply a measuring ritual on every car without agreement.
Deep scratches, stone chips, corrosion, and thin paint cannot be fully corrected through detailing. Body repair sits with appropriate specialists.

Paint clarity
A structured way to talk about what you can see in the paint — and what detailing can and cannot reasonably address after inspection.
Wash marring and fine swirls are common. Enhancement may reduce their visibility on some paints. Soft, dark, or previously corrected panels can respond differently.
Dull or oxidised paint may gain clarity after cleaning and, where suitable, polishing. Chalked, neglected, or failing clear coat may be beyond cosmetic detailing.
Gloss is affected by cleanliness, paint type, previous product, and lighting. A glossier appearance can be a goal; it is not a guaranteed showroom-grade result.
Colour depth is a visual quality, not a measurable promise. Metallic, pearl, and matte finishes read differently after the same process.
Holograms, etching, water spots, and random isolated marks need individual assessment. Some defects sit in clear coat; others sit below it.
Stone chips expose primer or metal. Detailing does not fill, paint, or structurally repair chips. Touch-up or body repair sits outside this service.
Deep scratches that catch a fingernail often remain after polishing. Attempting to polish through them can thin remaining clear coat.
Options range from enhancement polish to more involved correction discussion. The right option depends on paint depth, time, and risk tolerance.
Findings are explained before work is agreed. Previous repairs, resprays, and thin paint change what is sensible to attempt.
Goals should be specific: cleaner, glossier, better protected, or better presented. Vague ‘perfect’ finishes are not a safe brief.
Paintwork may have defects, previous repairs, thin clear coat, stone chips, deep scratches, corrosion, staining, wear, or damage that cannot be fully corrected through detailing.
